How long does a design project take?
On average one and a half to two months, depending on area and depth of detail. I give the exact timing together with the fee, from your plan.
What does a design project include?
Measured plan, space plan, concept and visualisations, a set of working drawings (demolition and construction, floors, ceilings, lighting, electrics, plumbing, elevations), schedules of finishes and equipment, selection of materials and furniture. Details are on the service page.
Can I commission the plan only?
Yes. Space planning is a standalone service: survey, two or three options, detailing of the chosen one. It is often commissioned before buying an apartment.
Is site supervision necessary?
A project survives its meeting with the site only when the author is nearby. Supervision means visits, answers to the contractor and decisions on the spot. Formally one can build without it; in practice supervision is what separates "as drawn" from "roughly that".
Do you work in my city?
In person in St Petersburg; in Moscow, Novosibirsk, Petrozavodsk and other cities — survey and key stages with visits, the project remotely. I work with projects abroad in the same way.
How does remote work go?
Regular calls and presentations, every decision from drawings and samples, photo reports from the site between visits. Every meeting is to the point.
What is needed from me as a client?
A conversation at the start and a completed questionnaire: how you live, what matters, what must not be there. After that — participation exactly as much as you want, from approving key decisions to choosing every handle.
What style do you work in?
Not a style but an approach: light, proportion and material first, the object last. Nothing appears until it is clear the space would be worse without it. Such an interior does not date — there is nothing in it to go out of fashion.
How much does a project cost?
It is calculated from area and scope. Send me the plan and I reply with a figure and timing, usually within two working days. What the fee depends on is explained on the Fees page.
Do you help with contractors and suppliers?
The project is legible to any builder — the choice of contractor remains yours. If needed I will help with the search and check estimates and samples against the project.
