Karelia — timber, stone, water and a great deal of sky. Here an interior wants to be made of what surrounds it: light, warm, without excess.
A northern interior
Little sun in winter and a great deal of light in summer — plan and lighting matter more than decoration here. Timber and stone are not a "style" but the natural choice of material: they are close by and last long. I design so that a house takes the polar day and the long dark with equal calm.
Working format
Survey and first meeting on site, the project remotely with regular presentations, site supervision with visits at key stages. Petrozavodsk is a few hours from St Petersburg — convenient both for the build and for meetings.
