Interior Design Project

The document a space is built from. Plan, concept with visualisations, working drawings and schedules — everything a contractor needs to build exactly what was intended.

What it is

A design project is not a set of pictures but a complete set of decisions: how the space is arranged, what it is made of and how to build it. Visualisations are the way to test light and material before construction; drawings are the language spoken with builders.

Light, proportion and material first, the object last: nothing in the project stays unless the space would be worse without it.

How it goes

It begins with a conversation and a questionnaire: how you live, what matters, what must not be there. Sometimes we meet on site straight away, and I take the measurements there.

Then the plan, the concept and visualisations, then working documentation and the selection of everything that goes in. You take part exactly as much as you want — from approving key decisions to choosing every handle.

Timing and fee

A project takes on average one and a half to two months, depending on the area and depth of detail.

The fee is calculated from area and scope: a full project and, say, a plan only are different tasks. Send me the plan of the apartment or house — I will quote a figure and timing, usually within two working days.

Stages

  1. 1

    Meeting and questionnaire

A conversation about how you live; the questionnaire records habits, wishes and vetoes.

  2. 2

    Survey

Site visit, measured plan, photographs, check of services.

  3. 3

    Plan

Two or three options, discussion, detailing of the chosen one.

  4. 4

    Concept and visualisations

Light, material, colour, pieces — and views of the key rooms.

  5. 5

    Working documentation

Drawing set and schedules — everything the contractor needs.

  6. 6

    Selection

Materials, lighting, furniture, sanitaryware — with references and suppliers.

  7. 7

    Site supervision

Accompanying the build to the last seam — a separate service.
